The My Planet from Space: Fragility and Beauty exhibition was held on 9 July to 9 September 2015 at the Visitors’ Lobby at the UN Headquarters General Assembly Building in New York, USA. Featuring stunning satellite images of Earth, the exhibition took visitors on a journey to some of the most beautiful and remote places on the planet. Satellites provide us with images of an ever-changing world: glaciers melting, sea levels rising, rainforests threatened by deforestation, growing desertification affecting croplands, and uncontrolled urban sprawl. They highlight the importance of spaceborne technology in the management and protection of natural resources and the global environment.
