Eastern Pacific Fresh Pool 2010-2015

3D model of the Eastern Pacific Fresh Pool (blue) from 2010–15. An increase in the size of the pool (or decrease in salinity) is clearly evident during the 2014 El Niño phase. This model is based on in situ data from Argo buoys, as well as from the SMOS satellite.
