Alboran Sea salinity change

Thanks to new processing techniques, SMOS can now be used to map salinity in the Mediterranean Sea. As an example, the image shows how salinity changed in the surface waters of the Alboran Sea 11–12 September 2014. The Alboran Sean is in the westernmost part of the Mediterranean Sea, between the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa.
