A Galileo Full Operational Capability satellite atop a wooden platform, being readied for electromagnetic compatibility testing inside ESA's Maxwell chamber. A wooden platform is used to avoid any radio frequency interference. On the front of the satellite its search and rescue can be seen to the left of its main circular navigation antenna, with a retro-reflector seen to the right, allowing the measurement of the satellite's position in orbit down to a few centimetres by reflecting a laser beam from Earth.
