Testing Webb

The James Webb Space Telescope sitting in front of a giant thermal–vacuum chamber in NASA’s Johnson Space Center, where it has been undergoing tests at cryogenic temperatures. The telescope will operate at –223°C in space, so these conditions are simulated on the ground, ensuring the optics and instruments will perform perfectly after launch.
