Super Proton Synchrotron

CERN's Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) particle accelerator. Located in a circular tunnel nearly 7 km in circumference, the SPS is CERN’s second largest accelerator after the Large Hadron Collider, which the SPS feeds into in turn.
