At the Los Angeles (LA) Metro press conference 14 August 2018 the LA Metro CEO Philip Washington introduced the new screening cameras from UK company Thruevision being placed at various locations in the LA Metro system. They use a cutting-edge ESA-patented screening technology to detect both metallic and non-metallic objects on a person’s body and are capable of screening up to 2000 passengers per hour.
