MTG Lightning Imager model

Structural model of the Lightning Imager to be carried on the Meteosat Third Generation Imager satellites. The instrument comprises four identical optical telescopes, mounted on a common head assembly. Each sensor covers one of four domains on the observable Earth disc. This new instrument will locate lightning in real time for nowcasting. It will be particularly relevant for air traffic safety.
