Earth imaged from MSG-3

Earth viewed by MSG-3 (Meteosat-10) on 16 February 2018. Thanks to the Meteosat series of missions, both first and second generation, meteorologists have had a reliable and continuous data supply for nowcasting and very short-range forecasting for more than forty years. Returning detailed imagery of Europe, the North Atlantic and Africa every 15 minutes, the role of these missions is to help detect and monitor rapidly developing high-impact weather such as storms with direct benefits for citizens and sectors such as transport, agriculture and marine operations.
