Simulated NavCam view of Jupiter and moons

Impression of how the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer will see Europa in front of the swirling atmosphere of Jupiter through its Navigation Camera (NavCam). The black disc is a projection of the moon’s shadow.

To generate the image, the NavCam was fed simulated views – based on existing images – to process realistic views of what can be expected once in the Jupiter system.
