By being able to estimate evapotranspiration at high-resolution, it is possible to capture the different irrigation practices at two irrigation pivot fields (magenta lines) in Spain. This is particularly apparent between June and August. If estimates relied only on the low-resolution evapotranspiration (black line), this important detail would be missed and therefore total water used during the season would be underestimated by about 15%.
