The Copernicus Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite in the cleanroom at IABG’s facilities in Germany on 17 July 2020. The satellite has passed its technical ‘qualification acceptance review’ stating that it has passed all of its tests. This means that the satellite can be packed up for shipment to the Vandenberg launch site in California, US. The Copernicus Sentinel-6 mission will assume the critical role of monitoring sea-level change by extending the long-term measurement record of global mean sea level from space.
