Vinciane Debaille cherishes forgotten rocks that have landed in the midst of the white desert. More than 250 martian meteorites have fallen under the scrutiny of this geochemist who dates rocks using natural radioactivity to understand how planets formed and evolved.
Vinciane is a researcher at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, in Belgium, and is also part of the group of European scientists recently selected to participate in the Mars 2020 mission. She hopes to contribute to the team with a good overview of what could be the most suitable samples to answer questions about habitability.
