On 9 December 2020, ESA signed contracts with industry to build Space Rider space and ground segments. Riccardo Fraccaro, Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Councils of Ministers of Italy hosted the event which took place at Palazzo Chigi, Rome, in the presence of Italian government representatives.
The contracts were signed by: Daniel Neuenschwander, ESA Director of Space Transportation; Massimo Claudio Comparini CEO at TAS-I; Giulio Ranzo, CEO at Avio; Vincenzo Giorgio, CEO at Altec; and Luigi Pasquali, CEO at Telespazio.
