Proxima Mission
Thomas Pesquet est astronaute de l'ESA, l’Agence spatiale européenne, depuis 2009. Entre novembre 2016 et juin 2017, dans le cadre de sa mission Proxima, il a passé six mois à bord de la Station spatiale internationale en tant qu'ingénieur de vol. En orbite autour de la Terre, il a mené plus de 200 expériences scientifiques et photographié la planète des centaines de fois.
A son retour, il a déclaré : « J'ai vu la beauté de la Terre, mais aussi sa fragilité. »
Proxima Mission
Thomas Pesquet has been an ESA astronaut since 2009. During his Proxima mission, from November 2016 to June 2017, he spent six months on board the International Space Station as a flight engineer.
He carried out over 200 science experiments in low Earth orbit, and captured hundreds of photographs of our planet. Upon his return he commented “I’ve seen the beauty of Earth, but also its fragility.”
