Ocean acidification weakens coral reef skeletons

Coral reefs build their skeletons to harvest light more effectively. As our oceans become more acidic, these skeletons become weaker, making coral reefs more susceptible to breaking when waves pass over. This is just one of the impacts of ocean acidification on coral reefs.
