This illustration by artist Ale Giorgini promotes ESA's astronaut selection campaign 2021. It shows astronauts inside the ESA-built Cupola observatory module on the International Space Station.
For the first time in more than a decade, ESA is recruiting aspiring astronauts. The 2021 campaign is looking for candidates with a Master’s degree (or higher) in STEM subjects. Qualified individuals with a passion for space are encouraged to apply either for the position of ESA astronaut or for the "Fly!" feasibility study. This study will assess the conditions required for astronauts with disabilities to work in space.
