A team at Stellar Advanced Concepts is designing shape-shifting aircraft inspired by the flight of the peregrine falcon to expand the range of applications of space vehicles. Support and funding from the Discovery element of ESA's Basic Activities boosts confidence in high-risk, high-reward early technology developments conducted by European start-ups and SMEs.
