In late April 2022, for the first time since mid 2011, ESA had two astronauts living and working together aboard the International Space Station.
Samantha Cristoforetti arrived with Crew-4 on 28 April in SpaceX Crew Dragon Freedom, while Matthias departed with his Crew-3 colleagues, NASA astronauts Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn and Kayla Barron, on Thursday 5 May.
