Ariane 5 fairing getting its MTG-I1 sticker

With the launch of the Meteosat Third Generation Imager (MTG-I1) satellite set for 13 December, the Ariane 5 rocket fairing has been adorned with the mission sticker. The rocket will also launch two ‘co-passenger’ satellites: Intelsat Galaxy 35 and 36, which are injected into orbit before MTG-I1.

MTG-I1 carries two completely new instrument that will deliver high-quality data to improve weather forecasts: a Flexible Combined Imager and Europe’s first Lightning Imager.
