Above ground biomass

This map shows the above ground biomass in the Amazon, Central Africa and Borneo in 2020, using data generated by ESA’s Climate Change Initiative (CCI) Biomass project. A new study, published in Nature, reveals that tropical forests recovering from deforestation and degradation only successfully combat a quarter of the current carbon emissions.
