Detector plane of the Resolve instrument on XRISM

The Resolve instrument on the XRISM spacecraft works as an X-ray calorimeter. The X-rays that hit Resolve’s detector pass on energy that warms it up. The rise in temperature changes the detector’s conductive properties. The energy of the absorbed X-ray photons can be calculated by analysing these changes.
