Plato key visual

This is an artist's impression of ESA’s mission Plato, PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars, which will discover potentially habitable planets around stars similar to our Sun. Equipped with 26 advanced cameras, the mission will study thousands of exoplanets in detail, focussing on terrestrial ones, and uncover exomoons and rings around them. Plato will also advance our understanding of the interior and evolution of stars by monitoring tiny intensity variations in the starlight it receives.
