A TDE funded activity enabled the development for a new, high-pressure, cryogenic rocket combustion experiment. The experiment studied the resonant coupling between an injection head and combustion chamber – generating various test cases to best describe the injection coupling of liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen.
The figure shows the experiment and measured experimental flame characteristics recorded by a high-speed camera system. All three images reveal a highly turbulent flame structure for the supercritical LOX/H2 combustion.
