ESA project astronaut Marcus Wandt follows training lessons at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany.
The astronaut from Sweden will travel to the International Space Station on Axiom Mission 3 (Ax-3) no earlier than January 2024.
The Swedish astronaut is currently following a training programme to live and work in space, and meet the high standards required for human space flight. Marcus’s training takes place in Europe, USA, Canada, and Japan.
Marcus was selected in November 2022 as a member of the ESA astronaut reserve after a year-long selection process. The 2022 ESA recruitment campaign received over 22 5000 applications from across its Member States.
