The different components of one of the two identical units of the Follow-up X-ray Telescope (FXT) of Einstein Probe. The mirror module consists of 54 gold coated shells. The field of view of this telescope is smaller than that of the Wide-field X-ray Telescope but the FXT is a great tool to follow-up detected X-ray sources as it has a much larger light collecting power and much higher resolution. A thermal baffle at the end of the telescope helps stabilise the temperature of the mirror and protects the instrument against stray X-ray light from reflections of the mirror.
