Φsat-2, pronounced phisat-2, is a 6U cubesat that will further demonstrate the benefits of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for innovative Earth observation. This miniature satellite carries a multispectral instrument that images Earth in seven different bands (plus a panchromatic band) in the visible to near-infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Its AI applications are then used in a number of ways, demonstrating smarter ways of observing Earth.
The photograph shows Φsat-2 integrated and mounted on ground support equipment prior to the environmental testing. On the right, you can see the circular aperture of the optical payload, on the left one of the S-band antennas used for the communication with the ground.
