Snow-covered Arctic sea-ice

Dynamic lead north of Svalbard, taken during the BREATHE project cruise in spring 2023. Blocks of ice would turn over as the floes moved, revealing dense accumulations ice algae at their bottom, which you can see as the brown-tinged areas in the centre of the image.
