After a two-week journey onboard the cargo ship Canopée, the third Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite, Sentinel-2C, has arrived safely at Pariacabo harbour in French Guiana. From here, the satellite will be transported to Europe's Spaceport, where it will be readied for liftoff on the final Vega rocket in September 2024.
The Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission provides particularly useful information for a wide range of applications, including precision farming, water quality monitoring, natural disaster management and methane emissions detection.
