Wildfires in Brazil

This image was captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission on 9 September 2024 and shows wildfires along the Xingu River, in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil.

The infrared signal acquired by the mission’s multispectral instrument allows the extent of the burned areas to be seen and highlights where the fires were still active on the date of acquisition.
