The European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) – ESA’s technical centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands – is set to undergo a transformation.
The Accelerated Investment Project (AIP) is an ambitious plan aimed at renovating the ESTEC campus, with emphasis on sustainability and functionality. Witteveen+Bos and SBGA Blengini Ghirardelli were entrusted with the design.
ESTEC is ESA’s incubator of technological innovation, as well as the agency’s largest establishment. It is also the workplace of over 3000 people and the home to ESA’s Test Centre. The AIP aims to modernise its infrastructure – adding green spaces, connecting facilities and improving the general working environment.
