20 October last year marked an important landmark in the space History : for the first time a Soyuz was launched outside of the former soviet territory, not from Baikonr or Plesetsk but from Europe’s Space port in French Guyane.

This impressive twist in history also represented another important moment for Europe since this first Soyuz from Kourou launched the first operational Galileo satellites.

This video story recalls the incredible career of the legendary Russian rocket and its installation in the Centre Spatial Guyanais.
