Swarm soon to be exploring earths magnetic field

Although we hardly ever think about it, the earth’s magnetic field is forever protecting mankind and its planetin general each dayagainst the sun’s deadliest rays.
However, research has shown that this magnetic field is undergoing unprecedented changes. To research and better understand these changes in the earth’s magnetic field the European Space Agency, ESA, will soon be launching a new constellation of 3 satellites flying in formation: SWARM.
Launch of this new Earth Explorer mission is planned next October.
