Type: ESA TV Live
Format: 16:9
Today at 1430 Rome time, Italian ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano will talk from the TV studio at Johnson Space Centre with media representatives gathered at the Italian Space Agency headquarters.
Luca Parmitano launched as a Flight Engineer with the ISS Expedition 36 and 37 crews on 29 May. As well as carrying out a busy science programme in the Columbus laboratory, he has been extremely busy with unloading of the ATV-4 and HTV cargo vehicles and support for the demonstration flight of the new Orbital Sciences Cygnus vehicle. He carried out a highly successful spacewalk on 9 July. On his second spacewalk on 16 July, just over an hour into the sortie, Luca reported water floating in his helmet and NASA Mission Control decided to end the spacewalk early. The Expedition 36 crew; Commander Fyodor Yurckikin, fellow Flight Engineer Karen Nyberg, and Luca; returned to Earth in the early hours of Monday 11 November.
