At the Trousseau University hospital nearby Tours, in France, professor Philippe Arbeille has devised a concept of remote ultrasound scan process. This ESA project called ARTIS (Advanced Robotic Tele-echography Integrated Service) aims at validating a complete end-to-end robotized tele-echography service, which combines know-how and technologies developed for Human space flight activities as well as telecommunications via satellite.
