TEMPUS - ESA supports airborne telemedecine

On a commercial BMI flight to Moscow, British company RDT recently conducted a successful demonstration of a state-of-the-art telemedical device using broadband communications via satellite.

The initiative has been financially supported by the Telecomms Directorate of ESA as the latest part of a 30-year programme to develop satellite communications uses that directly benefit the public.
