For reindeer herders up in Lapland, having accurate information on snow and weather conditions is vital for the survival of their animals. To help maintain traditional ways of life in the Arctic and ensure the safety of its inhabitants, Polar View, a project supported by the European Space Agency, uses data provided by Earth Observation Satellites to provide high resolution ice-charts.
