In the frame of the conference “Copernicus - Sentinels Serving Society and the Environment" organized by the European Space Agency – ESA, the Greek Presidency and the European Commission – EC on 12/13 May 2014 in Athens/Greece, NEREUS in collaboration with the Apulian Aerospace Cluster and the Hellenic Association of Space Industries, organized a session focused on networking regions and debating their needs.
The event brought together more than 40 participants from all over Europe. Amongst the invited speaker were the Governor of Corfù Christos-Iraklis Skourtis and Head of ESA-Copernicus space office, Simon Jutz as well as speakers from different European regions.
By presenting regional best practices as well as cluster initiatives participants discussed how regional programs and instruments, especially structural funds can be exploited to finance space activities.
