The Copernicus4Regions breakfast debate took place on 23 January 2020 at the European Parliament. Organised jointly by ESA, the European Commission and the Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies (NEREUS), it brought together representatives from European regions, national space agencies, regional and national institutions, associations and research centres to highlight how Copernicus is used for public services in many application domains outside the space sector, across Europe at local and regional levels.
Building on the collection of 99 user stories The ever growing use of Copernicus across Europe’s regions launched in 2018, the event was also an opportunity to bring new stories to the attention of the audience.
The Copernicus4Regions initiative explores the ever-growing use of Copernicus across Europe’s regions, shows its benefits and aims at attracting more regions to get involved in the Copernicus programme.
