To go forward to the Moon in a sustainable way, international agencies must not only develop missions, but also prepare astronauts for those missions through intensive training and identify the best technologies to overcome the challenges of lunar exploration.
As the first ever European commander of the International Space Station (ISS), Frank De Winne is now head of the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) and ISS programme manager for ESA.
