ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet is part of the Crew-2 mission that will fly to the International Space Station on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft. His second six-month mission to the International Space Station will be called Alpha, after Alpha Centauri, the closest stellar system to Earth, following the French tradition to name space missions after stars or constellations.

Thomas is training for the mission alongside the Crew-2 astronauts Megan Behnken and Shane Kimbrough from NASA, and Japanese astronaut Aki Hoshide.
