With the enormous growth of permanent EO data that has come from the Copernicus programme and the development of the space industry, we are now bringing in new technologies that are beginning to transform space. Adjacent developments in the ‘Internet of Data’ (IoD), including AI , cloud and big data technologies which were previously used in software engineering and product development, are now coming into and being applied to space, making new scenarios and applications possible.
