It is almost 50 years since people last walked on the Moon. Europe is joining with the United States and other nations to prepare the way for new lunar landings, and long-term exploration of the Moon from the Lunar Gateway. Experiments on Earth, and more than 20 years’ experience on board the International Space Station are helping everyday life as well as preparing the path to life off-Earth, on the Moon and possibly even on Mars.
