The status of the ongoing ozone hole is displayed here as a 3D rendered animation. It shows the evolution of the ozone hole over the South Pole from 1 July to 24 September 2023.
The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) combines measurements from satellite instruments, including Copernicus Sentinel-5P, and in situ sensors with its numerical models to provide quality information about the state of the ozone layer, as well as forecasts of the status of the ozone hole.
