The Copernicus Imaging Microwave Radiometer (CIMR) mission is designed to monitor global change with a focus on the polar regions. Its data support the implementation of solutions for a sustainable Arctic and help combat the effects of climate change worldwide. The satellite carries a conically-scanning multichannel microwave radiometer that delivers cloud-free measurements of sea ice, sea-surface temperature, sea-surface salinity and wind speeds over the ocean.
As well as the multitude of different measurements over the Arctic, CIMR is designed to also deliver data products over land including snow parameters, vegetation products, soil moisture and land-surface temperature.
