The STS-84 Atlantis mission will be launched on May 15th 1997. Atlantis is scheduled to carry out the sixth docking with the Russian space station Mir, exchanging crew members, delivering supplies and testing new technologies. ESA astronaut Jean-Francois Clervoy, from France, will make his second trip into space on this mission.
This video provides a pre-flight overview of the sixth Atlantis-Mir docking. The main speaker is Phil Engelauf, lead flight director for the mission; charts give a breakdown of various on-board experiments, flight plan overview and so on. There are also animations to show the docking procedure, and questions from the Kennedy Space Centre audience.
