Reports on traffic jams make up ten percent of some radio programmes. But all they tend to do is distract the driver, and when push comes to shove, they're generally out of date. Jam information from the Traffic Message Channel, TMC for short, is much better. It's comprehensive and always up to date - except that you can't listen to it. Modern navigation systems use the data and guide the driver past the jams.
