CubeSats are picosatellites with standardised dimensions: 10 cm cubes with a maximum mass of 1 kg. Despite their size, they have their own power and communications systems, and they can carry one or more technology or science experiments.
Ejected into space by special deployment systems known as P-PODs, they can be operated from university radio stations.
