Development phases

From an organisational point of view, each subsystem in the MELiSSA project undergoes a logical step-wise development, from basic R&D in phase 1, preliminary flight  experiments to gain basic knowledge of behaviour in a space environment in Phase 2, to integration in ground and space demonstration, Phase 3. Phases 4 and 5 carry out the other goals of MELiSSA: contribute to terrestrial applications in everyday life and create awareness and inform the broad public via scientific publications, educational events...
