544 - Abstract of the offer:
The European Space Agency (ESA) has developed a navigation satellite tracking method and receiving station that combines simultaneous and sequential tracking methods, thus obtaining enhanced precision with ionoespheric effect correction. This technology could, for example, be used for coastal altimetry and within the defence industry. License agreement collaborations are sought.

Description of the offer:

This satellite tracking method combines both simultaneous and sequential tracking methods. To obtain these results, the navigation-satellite tracking method includes at least one step of determining unambiguous one-way range observations for each set of satellites in view, wherein standard tracking channels are permanently associated to each of the satellites.

One characteristic of this method is that all observations, satellite per satellite, are determined for at least two frequencies in order to eliminate the ionospheric effects. Additional tracking channels are sequentially used for a predefined and fixed subset of satellites with at least two satellites. The standard tracking channels are supporting these channels in terms of line-of-sight dynamics compensation.

Innovations and advantages:

This technology combines the advantages of simultaneous observation and sequential tracking methods to obtain enhanced precision. It also includes ionoespheric effect correction.

Domain of Application:

This technology could e.g. be used in meteorology, transport and safety industries.
